Working Class Bookfair, Saturday 14th March 2009, 11.00 – 4.00. Linskill Centre, Linskill Terrace, North Shields, Tyne and Wear.

Bookfair: booksellers (eg Keel Row Books, North Shields; AK Press, Edinburgh, many others), new and second hand books – politics, people’s and local history, general interest; mining memorablilia, information stalls from the NE Mining Engineer’s Institute and Linskill Centre user groups (incl North Tyneside Friends of the Earth).
Three meetings: 11.30 – 12.30 The Credit Crunch, with Trevor Bark (from his WEA course of the same name); 12.30 – 1.30 The Miner’s Strike 25 Years on, and the NUM today, speakers Dave Hopper (General Secreatry, Durham Miner’s Association) and Davie Guy (President North East Area NUM); Organising at work , with Tyne and Wear IWW.
