Crust is a film about a one man’s mission to claw himself to success. A pub landlord from Tamworth who’s feeling the pinch finds a mutant Japanese crustacean and teaches it the art of pugilism, with the aim of getting it its own TV show with the local boxing hero. His attempts to sidle up to Ulrika Jonsson and recruit her as the presenter have mixed success.

Crust was funded as a tax dodge by fishy geezer Guy Hands, who thought he’d cracked a legal loophole existing to promote the UK film industry, which he exploited to avoided shelling out in bills, netting him a tidy return. Unfortunately for him he was caught and made to throw back his takings. Regardless, Crust still didn’t get a proper release, although it has been quietly making waves on the net ever since.

We have kind permission from the director to show the film, so leave the nippers at home and come and see this rarely screened treasure
