To the Fellow Workers of the 3 Cosas Campaign:
The London General Branch of the IWW extends its warmest congratulations to you as you enjoy your increased rights in regards to sick pay and allocation of holidays, as a result of your exemplary struggle and campaign. We wish you full success in your endeavour to achieve pensions on the basis of equality with the permanent staff at the University of London. We are confident of your ability to accomplish this goal despite the opposition and we stand in full solidarity with you in your ongoing struggle. We will be at your side until the wage system is abolished and society is reconstituted on the basis of need.
Your success has demonstrated the relevance and effectiveness of direct action. The timing could not be more crucial, as attempts have been made by the incumbent government to divide the working class by vilifying migrant workers. It is more necessary now than ever to repudiate such attempts with international solidarity. Continued attempts by the employing classes will be made to keep workers for whom English is not the first language from becoming aware of their rights. This lack of awareness will be exploited to make sure they endure harsher conditions for lower pay, increasing profit for employers. Empowering these workers to become organised and aware of their rights is the only way to prevent such exploitative employing class tactics.
In Solidarity,
London IWW General Branch.
