On the 2nd of July 2011, four Cambridge Wobblies gathered at the Friends Meeting House for Stage 1 Representative training. Doug had very kindly come all the way from Birmingham to train us. It had been our aim for months to be in a position to offer practical help and support. Until this point, we’d only had one trained rep, who is rep in his own workplace and thus in high demand already! Doug was a very animated and engaging trainer, and we were able to have lots of useful discussions about situations we’d faced at work. By the end of the day, we all felt more confident, although we’re definitely keen to attend more training sessions and build up our knowledge of employment law together.
