London IWW information session: The extended furlough scheme
With the government response to the COVID crisis as inconsistent as ever, the extended furlough scheme provides a lifeline to many millions of workers facing financial uncertainty. But as the government has switched the terms of the scheme a number of times over the past year, it’s important that, as workers, we understand the scheme and what we’re entitled to.
At 6:30 On Wednesday 18th November, the London IWW will host an information session outlining the details of the newly extended scheme. On the night, an experienced union representative will give a presentation which will be followed by a question-and-answer session.
The session is open to all non-managerial employees. You don’t have to be a union member to attend –  so invite your friends and colleagues. The session will be hosted on Zoom. Details below.
In the meantime, if you have any furlough-related questions (or any workplace-related issue at all), the IWW has got your back.
If you work in a language school, you can reach a union rep on tefl [at] iww [dot] org [dot] uk. If you’re based in London, you should email london.organiser [at] iww [dot] org [dot] uk. If you’re are outside of London, you can reach the IWW at info [at] iww [dot] org [dot] uk
