To understand what good organising is we must understand and analyse what it isn’t. In order to do this some of New Syndicalist’s editorial team will be examining the difference between organising and mobilising in the first of a new series of podcasts focusing on organising experiences, theory and strategies – Talking Shop.
Terms like Organising and Mobilising are thrown around regularly within trade union circles, but they are often misunderstood and conflated. The first podcast in New Syndicalist’s new series focuses on the distinction between ‘Organising’ and ‘Mobilising’ and can you can give it a listen here.
Who are New Syndicalist?
New Syndicalist is a forum for the sharing of strategies, tactics and experiences related to organising within workplaces, amongst claimants and tenant communities. The blog aims to provide both a testing ground and an ever more refined tool-kit for honing the approaches of union organisers. We believe that better educated, equipped and experienced organisers have an important role to play in shifting the balance of power in our workplaces and our communities. We hope that this blog can play a part in supporting this goal.
