A Powerful Show of Solidarity in the Face of Hate, Antifascists, Unionists, and Activists Unite Against the Far Right!

Yesterday, in the streets of Szczecin, a powerful counter-mobilisation brought together antifascists, unionists from IWW Poland (and beyond), the Czerwoni collective, grassroots activists, and residents who refuse to stay silent as the far right tightens its grip on public life.

This was a response to a demonstration called by the All-Polish Youth a group openly promoting fascist, racist, and xenophobic ideologies. Their agenda is clear: a Poland only for some; a fortress sealed off to those seeking refuge, dignity, or survival.

From early on, antifascists gathered in coordinated affinity groups, fully aware of the risks such actions entail. Many wore masks not only for anonymity but also as a protective measure against a state and far-right movement that increasingly blur into one. Their message was unambiguous: No human is illegal. No to Fortress Europe. No to fascism in our streets.

In a moving show of solidarity, banners and chants rang out in support of refugees trapped and brutalised at the Polish-Belarusian border, of people of colour harassed and excluded, of all those othered by a system rooted in nationalism and division. The slogans echoed across the cobblestones:

“Every wall is a fascist creation”
“Say it loud, say it clear, refugees are welcome here”
“Freedom, equality, a world without borders”

…and many more.

This was a grassroots action, unaffiliated with any parliamentary force, precisely because no political party in Poland today dares to stand for open borders or the dismantling of racist border regimes. This was about people power. About working-class solidarity. About choosing humanity over fear.

IWW Poland was present, standing shoulder-to-shoulder with comrades and communities resisting oppression. Red-black flags waved in unity with Antifascists, Unionists, Czerwoni, housing activists, queer collectives, anarchists, and concerned locals. Their presence reminded all that the struggle against fascism is tied to the struggle against capitalism, patriarchy, and the prison-border complex.

As fascist threats rise across Europe and the world from state policies to street-level violence Szczecin’s resistance sends a message far beyond the city’s limits: We will not be intimidated. We will not be silent.

To those on the front lines: your courage fuels the movement. Now is the time to organise, educate, and resist.

Big thanks to everyone who showed up young and old. Respect.

Another world is possible, but only if we fight for it, together.

Solidarity is our weapon. No pasarán!
Long live internationalism. Long live resistance.
No race war but class war.
