The Wales, Ireland, Scotland and England Regional Administration (WISE-RA) of the Industrial Workers of the World (IWW) are now accepting expressions of interest and submissions for our new publication, Wobbly Timesa reference to both the uncertain times we live in and the nickname of IWW members, Wobblies.

We aim to make Wobbly Times a forum for debate and discussion amongst workers who aim for the abolition of the wage system, not just for IWW members. We also want to make it a public platform for all of the creative energies of Fellow Workers. So, we are open not just to theoretical articles and think pieces, but also to poetry, flash fiction, drawings, cartoons and other creative forms – anything which assists in the self-development of workers as class conscious activists in the struggle against capitalism.

Each issue of Wobbly Times will have a theme. The theme for the first issue is ‘Workers of the World Unite’. Contributions are open to anyone who shares our objective of the abolition of the wage system, through the self-organisation of workers. No previous experience of writing or publishing is required. If you are interested and want to consider submitting something, you will find further information at: https://wobblytimes.noblogs.org/ Deadline for submissions is 30th May 2025.

As part of the IWW’s commitment to worker education, the Publishing Circle will arrange workshops, for IWW members, to assist potential contributors to work up their ideas into a publishable form. If you are interested in this option please email the Literature Committee at: literature [at] iww [dot] org [dot] uk In the subject line of the email please indicate whether you are interested in Creative Writing workshop or non-fiction writing Workshop. Deadline for expressions of interest in Workshop is 28th February 2025.

The Publishing Circle is also keen to hear from IWW members who can help out with any part of the publishing process – production, design, facilitating Workshops, editing etc. If you are interested in helping out please email the Literature Committee at: literature [at] iww [dot] org [dot] uk
