The IWW Education Workers’ Industrial Union would like to invite you to its first Education Workers’ Summit this August the 14th and 15th from 10:00am to 5:15pm (London time) on both days. The event will be held online, and you can register by following this link.
The Summit is an opportunity for education workers in all sectors of the industry to come together and discuss workplace and organising challenges while also getting support and ideas on what we can do about them. Sessions will focus on the IWW’s spirit of direct action and grassroots and industrial organising (organising all workers in a workplace in one union).
The summit will be divided into different sessions for each sector of the industry (see schedule below) to provide space for all workers. Sessions will be chaired to ensure a safe space and will take a “round table” format and will include short speeches from workers and the opportunity for all attendees to reflect and contribute if they so choose.
This event is for workers employed by educational institutions. This includes students, academics, support staff, archivists, cleaners, or researchers at nurseries, schools, universities, museums, libraries, or research laboratories.
Bosses, cops, and prison guards are not welcome.
If you have any questions or would like to speak at one of the sessions please email education [at] iww [dot] org [dot] uk
