Cambridgeshire County Council is planning to slash the budget for bus services by £300,000, threatening nine routes across the county. Horningsea has a minimum of two buses a day in each direction on the 196 service, but residents are now threatened with cuts by the county council. Unfortunately, Stagecoach is stopping its’ number 8 service through Horningsea because it is deemed not “commercially viable.”

Likewise, the Newmarket area will also be affected, leading residents to point out that thousands of workers and students will be stranded in Cambridge if the evening bus service is canceled.

The quality of life of the people of Cambridgeshire is being threatened and environmental concerns are being ignored.
