first IWW BIROC Dualcarders Conference

Hosted by IU 610 (health + social care workers), on Saturday 28th November 2009.

Venue:  Swanshurst School, Brook Lane, Birmingham, B13 0TW [click on link for map]. 11am – 5pm.

Meeting point + shuttle service between Birmingham New Street station + the venue to follow...

Aims: The main aims of this strategically important day are:
* Allow wobs to link up + network with other wobs in the same trade union
* Talk about the future when we start to attract more attention from the TU bureaucrats
* Consider how a new Tory government will affect the behaviour of the big TUs + what that means for us
* Have a think about what is stopping other TU activists from joining us                                                   

This is not a delegate based event - we want to see as many as possible of our dualcard members in attendance!

The day will be very interactive so that everyone will get a chance to contribute. Please make every effort to come.

Special guest speaker will be Dave Chapple (CWU), chair of the National Shop Stewards Network + experienced syndicalist.
Snacks + light refreshments will be provided + there is also a pub nearby which serves food (there will be an hour lunch break).
